Sample optimization for carrying out a scientific experiment of the technological process of construction

Abstract. The paper provides a scientific justification of the required sample size to obtain reliable information after processing the experimental data. The cases when the sample size is small in comparison with the volume of the General population are considered, which allows applying the formulas for the return sample. To estimate the required sample size, we consider cases where the proportion of the sample for the experiment or frequency is known and unknown. The questions of estimating the sample size based on the confidence interval, as well as a number of preferred numbers according to GOST 803284. The calculated data on the sample size are presented in a convenient for practical application form in the form of tables.
