On the effect of industrial agglomerations of Kursk on underground water as a source of drinking water supply

Abstract. The example of specific industrialresidential agglomerations of the city of Kursk shows the negative impact of production processes on the pollution of groundwater by the most common pollutants – hydrocarbons and heavy metals. The reasons for the manifestation and development of these complex processes are revealed. It is established that there is a threat of migration of pollutants in the direction of one of the largest urban water intakes. To localize contamination of groundwater, it is necessary to develop a technology for sanitation of pollution and an environmental monitoring system.
