Investigation of the reaction of a reinforced concrete building to an earthquake with initial damage to the base of soil

Abstract. In case of intensive seismic action, damage (cracks and fractures) be able to appear in the base of soil, which in turn can lead to partial or complete collapse of buildings or structures that are in the area of these damages. This effect can be taken into account in modeling the system of constructionbase through introducing the criterion of destruction into the model MohrCoulomb base of soil. The paper deals with the deterministic calculation of a 15storey reinforced concrete building with a full frame, located on base of soil, given by a modified model of MoraCoulomb on intense seismic impact. It was assumed that some time after the earthquake began, a transverse fault formed under the foundation slab of the building, which led to the destruction of the elements of the ground base. Numerical studies are carried out by a nonlinear dynamic method with integration of the equation of motion by explicit schemes in the software complex LSDYNA.
