Abstract. The article raises the problem of unacceptable and irrational application of structures in communication towers over 50 m high. The example of a standard tower makes the calculation of the bearing capacity of structures in all wind areas and an analysis of the depletion of the resource is given. Efforts are made on the most stressed tower in the 7th wind district. A replacement for a similar more stable metal is proposed.
