Features of deformation strength calculation of compressed concrete filled steel tube elements

Abstract. This article offers a procedure for calculating the strength of short compressed concrete filled steel tube elements based on the phenomenological approach and the theoretical positions of the mechanics of reinforced concrete. The distinctive feature of the offered approach is the method of multipoint construction of deformation diagrams of concrete core and steel shell. Behavior of the steel shell and the concrete core in the conditions of complex stress state is also taken into account.
